Paul holds the record on the River for being the first Ugandan to learn kayaking at a younger age of 14. He was so little when he started running big rapids and received a lot of criticism and threat from close friends and family. Paul recalls how his parents used to lock him in the house and beat him, “they thought I was going to die” Paul laments. This however did not stop the younger man from following his heart. He grew up on the river canoeing and admired kayakers who ran the Bujagali falls that he feared. He was taught how to kayak by our very own kayak instructor Mwesigwa Emmanuel. He has since then participated in the Nile Freestyle festivals and came second in a 35km river race. Paul has 5 sisters and 5 brothers.
